Zoro vs. Cabaji

Episode #: 7

Manga Chapter: 15, volume 2

Info: Cabaji was a dirty fighter, kicking Zoro in his wounded side whenever he had the chance and spitting fire in his face. Despite this as soon as the Buggy Pirate was knocked off his unicycle a single Oni Giri attack defeated him.

Zoro vs. Sham and Buchi (Nyaban Brothers)

Episode #: 13

Manga Chapter: [32-33] ,volume 4

Info: Sham stole two of Zoro's swords and then they both attacked him. When Nami gave Zoro his swords back, however, he defeated them easily with (Itto-Ryu Iai: Shishi Sonson) "Lion's Song/Strike". Buchi survived because he was so much fatter than his brother.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Mihawk

Episode #: 24

Manga Chapter: 51, volume 6

Info: Zoro could not get close enough to strike Mihawk, who used a tiny knife to fight him at first, claiming Zoro was "weak". But after he saw his honor and his determinable spirit, the master swordsman gave him a wound to remember him by (Zoro's famous chest scar) and told him not give up.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Hatchan (Hachi/Hachan)

Episode #: 39

Manga Chapter: 85, volume 10

Info: Hachi originally was quite polite to Zoro and ferried him around helpfully when he wanted to get to a particular area. After he realized he was an opponent, he tried to use his "six sword technique" to fight Zoro. Although Zoro was heavily wounded from his fight with Mihawk, he did not lose against the octopus man.

Zoro vs. (100) Baroque Works agents

Episode #: 65

Manga Chapter: 108, volume 12

Info: The Baroque Works members thought to revel the Strawhat Pirates into insensibility and then tie them up, get their Bounties and the treasure(s) off the Merry. However, as they were discussing this Zoro spoke from atop a tall building, telling them that a "real swordsman" wouldn't fall for their tricks. He told them he would take them all on - by himself -- and he won by using various techniques. He recognized the team because he had been sent an invite to join when he was a pirate hunter (he refused).

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Luffy (1)

Episode #: 66

Manga Chapter: 112, volume 13

Info: Luffy found all the "kind villagers" (Baroque Works agents) hurt where Zoro had left them. He was told who did it and became infuriated that the people that "took them in and gave them food" and such had been treated in that manner by hs nakama. He didn't give Zoro time to explain but when Nami finally pulled them apart he realized the truth.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Mr. 1 (Das Bones)

Episode #: 119

Manga Chapter: 194, 195, volume 21

Info: It takes Zoro a very long time to understand the "power of breath/breathing", which gives him the ability to cut through metal and defeat his opponent.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Braham

Episode #: 170

Manga Chapter: 259, volume 28

Info: Braham had a gun and a "cloud dial" that he could use to blind Zoro and travel up to wherever he was. Zoro tried to trick Braham, saying his goggles were special and could deflect the light but the other saw through that immediately. The swordsman defeated him by channeling his strength and power in one sword - saying something to the effect of "he had a cannon, the other has a pistol". He sliced him through in one hit after that.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Ohm

Episode #: 178

Manga Chapter: 271, volume 29

Info: Ohm's sword was like a flexible whip that could change into a shield of impenetrable clouds. He could also predict where his opponent was and therefore wherever Zoro went he could attack relentlessly. He ended up behind a wall and realized that Ohm's sword would give away his position. So he attacked where the sword was with the technique he had learned from his battle with Braham and of course, felled his opponent in one hit.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro (+ Sanji) vs. Hamburg, Pickles, and Big Pan

Episode #: 211 - 212

Manga Chapter: 310-312, volume 33

Info: The infamous "Groggy Ring" episode of the anime that so many people misquote ("Prince of Stupid Country"). Sanji gets a ball strapped to his head that the largest giant on the Foxy side also has. Whoever hits the "ball" into the goal wins. The Foxy Pirates cheat outrageously, telling Zoro he can't use his weapons but when they get theirs out the referee ignores it. Zoro breaks down and asks Sanji to cooperate with him for a few seconds, to which he agrees. They use the Foxy Pirate's own attacks against them and Zoro ends up grabbing the semi-conscious fish giant's jaw and slamming him into the ring to win.

Zoro vs. Franky Family

Episode #: 2--

Manga Chapter: 325, volume 35

Zoro, (+ Luffy, Sanji, and Chopper) vs. Franky Family

Episode #: 234

Manga Chapter: 330, volume 35

Info: After finding Usopp unconscious, the four Strawhats simply pulverize the Franky Family. Zoro slices their guns (canons) and canonballs apart as his main contribution, besides regular fighting with the members. They completely destroy the Franky House with no trouble.

Zoro vs. T-Bone

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Kaku

Episode #: 299 - 300

Manga Chapter: 416, 417, volume 43

Info: Kaku is a satrong opponent, and he gets even stronger when he transforms into his anthro giraffe form. Zoro uses multiple attacks in this large battle, including the "Zorilla" tactic (as fans have dubbed it) where he buffs his arms up with pure muscle. He finally ends up winning with an attack he uses for the first time called Asura.

[manga image] - [anime image]

Zoro vs. Ryuuma

Episode #: []

Manga Chapter: 467, volume 48
